To take advantage of automatic e-mail notification, each HCL Compass client on Windows™ and the UNIX™ system must enable email notification.

To learn how to enable e-mail notification, refer users to the instructions in the Help for the HCL Compass client. You must provide users with the email provider parameters, such as the SMTP host address of the mail server or the MAPI profile name.

To use MAPI notification for Windows platforms, Collaboration Data Objects must be installed.

Attention: HCL Compass Email 1.x and MAPI support have been deprecated. For enhanced email support, use the EmailPlus 2.1 package. For more information, see sch_pkgs/c_emp_package.html.
