Creating a shipping address for a customer order

If the customer did not specify a shipping address when the order was created, but wants to specify one now, follow these steps. For example, software that is downloaded from the Internet does not require a shipping address; however, if the customer requests a CD-ROM instead, then a shipping address is required. B2B directDepending on the terms stipulated in the customer's contract, you might not have the authority to change or create a new shipping address for the order. In this case, the information that is presented is read only.

Procedure

  1. Open HCL Commerce Accelerator
  2. Consumer direct (B2C)Find the order that you want to work with.
  3. Open the Change Order notebook by selecting the check box next to the order that you want to work with, and clicking Change.
  4. When you open the notebook, the Products page is displayed. From the left navigation frame, click Shipping. The Shipping Addresspage is displayed. It lists all products in the order and the shipping address that is selected for the order.
  5. Click Select Another Address. The Select Shipping Address window opens.
  6. Click New. TheCreate Shipping Address window opens.
  7. Provide the following shipping information:
    1. In the Address identifier field, type a brief (one- or two-word) description to identify the shipping address. For instance, to ship an order to your mother, use a shipping address identifier called "Mom". Likewise, to ship an order to your work location instead of to your home, use an address identifier called "Work".
    2. In the Last name field, type the receiver's surname.
    3. In the First name field, type the receiver's first name.
    4. In the Street address fields, type the receiver's shipping address in one or more of the address fields.
    5. In the City, field, type the city of the receiver's shipping address.
    6. In the State/Province field, select or type the state or province of the receiver's shopping address.
    7. In the Country/Region field, select the country or region of the receiver's shipping address.
    8. In the ZIP/Postal code field, type the ZIP or postal code of the receiver's shipping address.
    9. In the Phone number field, type the receiver's telephone number.
    10. In the E-mail address field, type the receiver's email address.
  8. Click OK. After the new shipping address is created, the system uses it as the shipping address for the current customer order.
