Selecting the winning path for a search rule experiment

When your experiment is complete, you must select the most successful path in the search rule to use going forward. You can determine the winning path based on the default statistics that HCL Commerce collects, or based on data from some other analytics provider.

Procedure

  1. Open the Marketing tool.
  2. From the explorer view, click Search Rules. The Search Rules - List page opens.
  3. Right-click the search rule that contains the experiment for which you want to select the winning path; then click Open.
  4. Deactivate the search rule if it is active.
  5. Click the Experiment element.
The properties view displays the properties of the experiment.
  6. On the Statistics tab, select the Winner column of the winning path.
  7. Click Save to save the search rule and experiment.
  8. Right-click the Experiment element and select Create New Activity from Winner.

Results

A new version of the search rule is created in which only the flow of the winning path remains. Any other aspects of the experiment are removed. The original search rule is marked as read-only. For tracking purposes, the original search rule is added to the Related Activities tab. Any other search rules that are ancestors or descendants of the new search rule are also added to the Related Activities tab.
