Creating and editing Commerce Composer objects directly from store preview

When you are previewing pages that are managed in the Commerce Composer tool, you can display Create and Edit links that are embedded in store preview pages. The links open Management Center to the correct window for you to manage pages, layouts, widgets, and related business objects, saving you time.

Before you begin

In an extended site, the click-to-edit function to open a preferred store must be configured.
If you use the Mozilla Firefox browser, configure the browser to display Management Center on top of the store preview page after you click Edit:
For Firefox versions 22 and earlier:
1. Open the Firefox browser.
2. Click Tools > Options.
3. Click the Content tab.
4. To the right of Enable JavaScript, click Advanced.
5. In the Advanced JavaScript Settings window, select Raise or lower windows.
6. Click OK.
For Firefox versions 23 and later:
1. Open the Firefox browser.
2. In the address bar, type about:config.
3. If a warning message is displayed, click I'll be careful, I promise.
4. In the Search field, type dom.disable_window_flip.
5. In the Preference Name column, double-click the row for the preference named dom.disable_window_flip. The Value column changes to false.
6. Close the tab in the browser.

Procedure

Launch store preview.
Browse to the page that is managed in the Commerce Composer tool.
Do either of the following things:
- To work with the page and its layout:
  1. At the top of the store preview window, click Show Layout Information.
  2. Click the Edit link to the right of the page name. If there is a layout assigned to the page, click the Create or Edit link to the right of the layout.
- To work with widgets in the page:
  1. At the top of the store preview window, click Show Page Information.
  2. In the upper left corner of the widget, click Show Information.
  3. Click the Create or Edit link that is next to the business object that you want to manage.
