Committing workspace data to production-ready data
Approve a task group to commit files and data in the task group to production-ready data, either immediately or at a scheduled time set earlier. If the task group is marked as quick publish, task group files and data are also published to the production server.
About this task
Use one of the following methods to commit
workspace data on the authoring server to production-ready data:
- Scheduled commit
- Workspace Managers can schedule when task group data is committed to production-ready data. This allows the business team to complete all site campaign and content changes, review and approve everything in advance, and schedule the collection of changes to go to the production-ready data at a predetermined date and time. The task group commit occurs at the earliest time after the date and time set when scheduling the commit.
- Regular commit
- For task groups that are not marked as quick publish and do not have a scheduled commit, the task group commit occurs after all tasks in the task group are completed and, if required, the task group is approved.
By selecting the quick publish option when creating a new task group, the Workspace Manager ensures that both the commit to production-ready data and the publish to the production server occurs as soon as possible after the task group is approved. After the task group is approved, the task group data is committed to production-ready data. When the commit completes, the task group data is published to the production server.
