Samples
Starter stores
A fully functional sample online store, provided in store archive format with WebSphere Commerce. Starter stores are samples designed to be used as a base from which a customized online store can be created. Starter stores are translated into several languages and support multiple Web browsers and platforms. Starter stores are fully accessible, with the exception of the Madisons mobile starter store. Accessibility guidelines for mobile devices are not well defined or well established.
Extended sites starter store
Use an extended sites starter store to get started on setting up an extended sites solution that will allow your selling organization to provide unique storefronts for different enterprise customers or showcase a number of branded storefronts.
Creating and configuring an Extended Site
You can create an Extended Site by creating the site stores using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, then configure the store information and flows to have the store serve as an extension of your asset store. You can then add buyer authority for multiple accounts, and upload the catalog data and catalog filters for the Extended Site store.

Before loading catalog data in CSV format, ensure that you create your catalog data in CSV format according to the instructions in Creating catalog data in CSV format.

Loading catalog data in CSV format

Before loading catalog data in CSV format, ensure that you create your catalog data in CSV format according to the instructions in Creating catalog data in CSV format.

Procedure

Ensure that no store publishing activity is running.
Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
Open the Catalog Upload and Import page:
- Click Merchandise > Catalog Import.
- Click Products > Catalog Import.
If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.
Click Upload Catalog. Note: You can create the catalog data in CSV format using the provided catalog CSV worksheets as a guide.
The Catalog Upload page displays. Do the following:
1. Select the file encoding for the catalog data. The default is UTF-8. Special characters may require different encoding. For example, characters with accents or special characters such as the copyright symbol, , require file encoding Windows Latin-1. Choosing the incorrect file encoding will cause the Catalog Import to fail.
2. Select the catalog file name.
3. Click Upload File.
Once you receive a confirmation that the file has been uploaded successfully, click OK to return to the Catalog Upload and Import list.
Publish your uploaded catalog CSV data.
