Loading catalog data in CSV format

Before loading catalog data in CSV format, ensure that you create your catalog data in CSV format according to the instructions in Creating catalog data in CSV format.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that no store publishing activity is running.
  2. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
  3. Open the Catalog Upload and Import page:
    • Consumer direct (B2C)Click Merchandise > Catalog Import.
    • B2B directClick Products > Catalog Import.
    If you do not see this menu, then your logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact your Site Administrator.
  4. Click Upload Catalog. Note: You can create the catalog data in CSV format using the provided catalog CSV worksheets as a guide.
  5. The Catalog Upload page displays. Do the following:
    1. Select the file encoding for the catalog data. The default is UTF-8. Special characters may require different encoding. For example, characters with accents or special characters such as the copyright symbol, Copyright symbol, require file encoding Windows Latin-1. Choosing the incorrect file encoding will cause the Catalog Import to fail.
    2. Select the catalog file name.
    3. Click Upload File.
  6. Once you receive a confirmation that the file has been uploaded successfully, click OK to return to the Catalog Upload and Import list.
  7. Publish your uploaded catalog CSV data.
