Installing Sales Center maintenance using Tivoli Configuration Manager

You can use the Tivoli Configuration Manager client to push the Sales Center maintenance package from removable media or a local disk out to your Sales Center client machines. You need to give Tivoli instructions to push the maintenance package, and then run a silent install on the client machines.

Before you begin

  • Tivoli Management Framework and Configuration Manager are installed. Refer to your Tivoli documentation for details.
  • A Tivoli Endpoint agent is running on the client machines and is successfully connecting with the Tivoli Configuration Manager.
  • The Sales Center maintenance package is available locally, either on removable media (such as a DVD) or on a local disk.

  1. Choose and obtain the maintenance update that you want to apply.
The process and steps to install interim fixes and fix packs are the same. If you are installing an interim fix, you likely have obtained the fix from IBM Support. Available fix packs for WebSphere Commerce V7 Sales Center are listed on the swg27007361 page.
  2. Open Tivoli Desktop and log in.
  3. Open the appropriate Tivoli region.
  4. Click Create > ProfileManager. Give the Profile Manager a meaningful name, such as SalesCenterInstall.
  5. Click Create > Profile. Give the profile a meaningful name.

  12. Provide location and name for the Source (the location of the Sales Center client install package) and Destination (a directory of your choice on the client machine). Click OK.
  13. Right-click the package icon and select Insert > Program > Execute program.
  14. On the Execute Program Properties dialog, on the Install tab, provide the path to silentsetup.exe on the client machine.
  15. Click Advanced. In the Arguments field, enter -silent -options responsefile_full_path, where responsefile_full_path is the full path to responsefile.txt on the client machine. Click OK.
  16. Click OK again on the Execute Program Properties panel.
