Before you migrate WebSphere Commerce, review this information for an overview of the migration process.
Taking your first steps after WebSphere Commerce migration
After you have migrated your database and application tiers, migrate applicable WebSphere Commerce features, functions and customizations you have performed.
Migrating from a previous payment implementation
If you are migrating from a previous version of WebSphere Commerce, you can continue to use WebSphere Commerce Payments Multipayment Framework with cassettes. However, the recommended approach is to use payment plug-ins. Alternately, you can use WCPayments plug-in with cassettes.
Migrating WebSphere Commerce Payments Multipayment Framework to Version 7 (compatibility mode)
You can use WebSphere Commerce Payments Multipayment Framework in compatibility mode. By using compatibility mode, you can continue to use cassettes; however, you will not use the Payments subsystem. Consider using the WCPayments plug-in with cassettes instead of using the WebSphere Commerce Payments Multipayment Framework in compatibility mode.

All prerequisite software has been migrated or updated.
You can access the previous version of the Payments and WebSphere Commerce databases.
