Migrating WebSphere Commerce Developer
This section discusses important information you should review before you migrate your current WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 5.6.1 or 6.0 to WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0. Migrating WebSphere Commerce Developer includes completing the following steps in this order.
Migrating the database
Migrating the development environment database is the first stage of the migration process. You can migrate your WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 5.6.1 or 6.0 database to the WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0 level using either the Migration wizard or the command line.

To run database migration you must open the Migration wizard and follow the steps that are presented. The wizard does not automatically backup or restore the database, but does guide you through the process. Once the database back up and restore are completed, the Migration wizard migrates the database.
