Before you migrate WebSphere Commerce, review this information for an overview of the migration process.
Migrating WebSphere Commerce Developer
This section discusses important information you should review before you migrate your current WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 5.6.1 or 6.0 to WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0. Migrating WebSphere Commerce Developer includes completing the following steps in this order.
Migrating custom assets
The second phase of the migration process is the migration of custom assets.
Migrating WebSphere Commerce Accelerator and the Administration Console
There are no migration tools that migrate WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, the Administration Console, or the Organization Administration Console. If you want to migrate WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, the Administration Console, or the Organization Administration Console, you must perform the operation manually.
Copying your encrypted passwords for the WebSphere Commerce tools
If you want to log on to the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, Administration Console, or Organization Administration Console after migrating to WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0, you must modify a configuration file to include your old encrypted passwords.

Copying your encrypted passwords for the WebSphere Commerce tools

If you want to log on to the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, Administration Console, or Organization Administration Console after migrating to WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0, you must modify a configuration file to include your old encrypted passwords.

Procedure

Open the following WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 5.6.1 or 6.0 file in a text editor:
- Version 6: WCDE_installdir\xml\config\wc-server.xml
- WCDE_installdir\config\xml\config.xml

Locate your previous encrypted passwords:

MerchantKey="rZ15ws0ely9yHk3zCs3sTMv/ho8fY17s" 
...
SiteAdminID="wcsadmin"
SiteAdminPassword="m2zFWZGIt2KzuRcT6YvptQ=="

Copy the MerchantKey, SiteAdminID, and SiteAdminPassword to the corresponding lines WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0 file:
workspace_dir\wc\xml\config\wc-server.xml
Save the file and sign into the WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0 administration pages using your Site Administrator ID and password.
