Verifying the installation

After you install a feature pack, you should verify that the installation was successful.

Procedure

  • Launch Installation Manager by going to the directory where Installation Manager was installed and running IBMIM.exe.
    Alternatively, you can launch Installation Manager as follows:
    • For Windows VistaFor Windows 2008For Windows 7Start > Programs > IBM Installation Manager > IBM Installation Manager (Run as administrator)
    • For Windows XPFor Windows 2003 Start > All Programs > IBM Installation Manager > IBM Installation Manager
  • Review the installation history by selecting File > Installation History.
    Ensure the Install Activity for the IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Enterprise/Express/Professional and IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer feature pack packages reported success.
  • Check WCDE_installdir/logs/setup.log to ensure there is a BUILD SUCCESSFUL message at the end of the log file. This log is used to verify the base installation of WebSphere Commerce Developer is successful.
  • Check WCDE_installdir/logs/update/7.0.0-WS-WCDeveloper(Enterprise/Professional/Express)-FP00X.install/updatelog.txt to ensure there is a INSTCONFSUCCESS message at the end of the log file and WCDE_installdir/logs/updatedb.log to ensure there is a BUILD SUCCESSFUL message at the end of the log file. These logs are used to verify the fix pack installation for WebSphere Commerce Developer is successful.
  • If you selected any features to enable, run the check enablement status script to confirm their status.
