Troubleshooting: Checking that the IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer feature pack is installed on your machine

After installing a WebSphere Commerce feature pack, you want to ensure that the feature pack is installed correctly.

Problem

After installing the IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer feature pack, you are unable to verify that it is installed.

Solution

To check if the feature pack is installed on your machine, complete the following steps:

From a command prompt run the following command:
- WCDE_installdir/bin/versionInfo.bat
  Note: This command is available only for WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0 with fix pack 1 or higher installed.

Review the output. Running this command produces an output that includes the product information. For example:

WebSphere Commerce Developer Feature Pack 1:

Note: If you have not enabled a WebSphere Commerce Developer feature on your instance, an output similar to the following is displayed:

Build Date              xx/xx/xx

Where Z is the fix pack number that you have installed and YY is the edition of WebSphere Commerce Developer.

If the message does not include an entry for the feature pack you are installing, the IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer feature pack has not been installed properly.
