Enabling WebSphere Commerce Payments for use with LDAP

When WebSphere Commerce Payments is enabled for use with LDAP, you must keep the password for the WebSphere Commerce Site Administrator in the WebSphere Commerce database synchronized with the LDAP password for the WebSphere Commerce Site Administrator. You will not be able to access the WebSphere Commerce Payments console or the WebSphere Commerce Payments function in the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator if you do not keep the two passwords synchronized. To keep the password synchronized, you must change the password in the WebSphere Commerce Site Administrator for the WebSphere Commerce database whenever you change the LDAP password for the WebSphere Commerce Site Administrator.

Procedure

  1. Stop WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce Payments.
  2. Start the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console for WebSphere Commerce Payments.
  3. In the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console, expand Servers > Application Servers > server1 > Java and Process Management > Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine > Custom Properties.
  4. Click New.
  5. Add the following property: wpm.LDAPUserIndicator.
  6. Add the property value as your LDAP RDN prefix for users. For example, uid or cn.

User names starting with these values are considered LDAP users.

  7. Click Apply and save your changes.
  8. Exit the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console.
