Installing packages for Solaris 10 and earlier

You can use the Solaris Package Deployment Wizard to facilitate the deployment of Solaris packages to endpoints.

Before you begin

Ensure that you meet the following requirements:
  • Subscribe to the Patches for Solaris site.
  • Download the Solaris package that you want to deploy.
  • To avoid problems with disk space, run the Clean Solaris Deployment Wizard Packages task (ID #24) with the options you need.

Procedure

  1. From the Patch Management domain, click OS Vendors > Sun Microsystems Solaris > Configuration > Solaris Package Deployment Wizard.

  2. Choose the Solaris package (either patch or cluster) that you want to deploy.

  3. Click the check box to create a one-time action, or leave it blank to create a Fixlet that you can reuse.
  4. When complete, click Create. You see the following progress window.

  5. In the first task window, click OK and then click in the Actions box to start deployment.

  6. In the Take Action dialog, use the tabs across the top of the window to set parameters for this action and click OK. The wizard deploys this action to your clients.
