This section guides you through BigFix Modern Client Management (MCM) and BigFix Mobile to understand the MCM concepts, terminologies, features, and functionality.

  • BigFix delivers an agent capability to endpoint management that dynamically provides visibility to every endpoint.
  • BigFix agent initiates downloads, patches, configurations, and other content to the endpoint in real-time; initiates actions and performs continuous self-assessment and policy enforcement. BigFix also provides agent-less management for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android endpoints. That means, you can manage traditional devices that have BigFix agent installed as well as modern devices that do not have a BigFix agent installed.
  • BigFix extends management to corporate-owned and BYOD devices running Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android by delivering important actions and out-of-the-box policies to effectively manage the endpoints.

BigFix MCM

BigFix Modern Client Management (MCM) is a modern device management (MDM) solution that enables your organization to get the visibility and control of Windows 10 and Windows 11 and macOS devices, (even if they are not running a BigFix agent) alongside traditional BigFix managed endpoints to perform key MDM actions such as remote wipe, screen lock, and changing device settings.

BigFix Mobile

BigFix Mobile extends endpoint management capabilities to iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices.

BigFix WebUI

BigFix WebUI is the interface to manage MDM enrolled endpoints. Based on the licenses, permissions, and the mode of MDM deployment, it dynamically enables you to manage your endpoints.

For details on prerequisites, see Modern Client Management and BigFix Mobile Installation and Configuration Guide.
