Removing the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility

Remove the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility plug-ins from your integrated development environment (IDE). In addition, instructions for removing the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility are provided. These instructions only need to be followed if you intend on removing Static Analyzer Command Line Utility components from your system. If you are upgrading these components to a new Static Analyzer Command Line Utility version, plug-in installation will remove old components automatically before installing the new version.

Before you begin

Important: If you installed the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility plug-in to an IDE, you will need to run one or more files or commands in the extracted SAClientUtil_<version>_<os>.zip location to completely remove the IDE plug-in. These files are:
  • Static Analyzer Command Line Utility Version 6.0.865 and earlier:
    • walalib\dotnet.libs35\UnRegisterInGAC.bat
    • walalib\dotnet.libs40\UnRegisterInGAC.bat
  • All Static Analyzer Command Line Utility versions, including Version 6.0.865 and earlier: Open a command prompt as an administrator and change directory to the location to which you extracted SAClientUtil_<version>_<os>.zip. Change directory to the bin\ folder and then issue this command:
    regsvr32 /u msdia80.dll

Procedure

Static Analyzer Command Line Utility To remove the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility, delete the extracted SAClientUtil_<version>_<os>.zip contents from your system. If you added the location of the Static Analyzer Command Line Utility \bin directory to your PATH environment variable, remove it.
