Discover System Monitoring
Discover provides several mechanisms for monitoring the health of the Discover system and Discover user activities. This section provides access to the various tools available in the Discover system for monitoring it and its users.
Troubleshooting Issues in Reporting
After data has been stored in the Long Term Canister, the Discover Data Collector periodically scans the LTC for new sessions to aggregate and insert into the Discover databases, where the aggregated data is used to populate reports.

        For more detailed information on the activities of the Data Collector, you can access the logs through the Portal Management page.

Reviewing Data Collection Events and Logs

Through the Manage Portal page, you can review the application events and associated logs for the Data Collector.

About this task

The Portal Management tools are useful for diagnosing a variety of problems. This section provides diagnostics for the Data Collector, but similar steps can be applied to any Discover service.

Procedure

In the Portal menu, select Discover > Manage Portal.
Under Discover Servers, click Manage Servers.
Select the server where the Data Collector is installed. By default, this server is the Report server.
When the server is selected, the server-specific toolbar is displayed at the top of the pane.
