Administering Unica Discover involves configuring and integrating the Unica Discover client framework with your web applications or mobile native applications, installing and administering the databases used by Unica Discover, defining event objects and configuring events, hit attributes, dimensions, and other object attributes used by Unica Discover to monitor mission-critical metrics of your web application's performance.

ELK Configurations
Before configuring ELK on Unica Discover, there are some prerequisites:

      The Discover installation handles the installation and basic configuration of ELK, its components, and its services.

      You can start and stop the FileBeat service and the WinLogBeat service.
    - Configuring the Filebeat Service
      The Discover installer installs the beats to all the components, but you must configure it and start it from Manage Services in the portal.
    - Configuring the WinLogBeat Service
      The Discover installer installs the beats to all the components, but you must configure it and start it from Manage Services in the portal. WinLogBeat service is applicable only to Microsoft Windows-based machines or servers.
    - Accessing ELK Dashboards
      A new menu item, named System Logs, is introduced to access ELK Dashboards.
    - Providing ELK Dashboards access Non-admin Users
      By default, the Administrator has access to all the Dashboards, including the Kibana Dashboards, introduced as part of ELK integration.
    - Verifying the Revisions in FileBeat Service and WinLogBeat Service
      After running the FileBeat Service or the WinLogBeat Service, you can compare the revisions between the new revision and the earlier revision.

ELK Configurations

Before configuring ELK on Unica Discover, there are some prerequisites:

You must upgrade to Unica Discover 12.1.2.
If you are a new user or an existing user, you must install the new RPM for ELK to install Kibana Dashboard and Elastic search. For more information on installing the RPM, see the topic "ELK Installation" in Unica Discover Installation and Deployment Manual.
You can use ELK on on-premises version as well as the Docker version of Unica Discover.
