To select activities for the deliver operation

About this task

After you start the deliver operation and, optionally, specify the target, the Deliver Preview window (on a UNIX system or Linux) or the Deliver from Stream Preview window (on a Windows system) opens to display the activities in your development stream that have never been delivered or that include versions created since the last deliver operation.

The Delivering to Target field shows the target context of your delivery.

Continue the deliver operation as follows:

Procedure

  1. Select activities from the Deliver Preview window (UNIX or Linux) or the Deliver from Stream Preview window (Windows).

You can select all of the activities in the window or only a subset. If you select a subset of the activities, any dependencies between versions in the change sets are checked before the operation continues (more information is available on activity dependencies in the deliver operation). If your selection does not satisfy dependencies, you are prompted to change your selection.

In addition to considering the dependencies that are enforced, ensure that choosing a subset of activities does not introduce inconsistencies that will cause your test builds to fail.

Tip: To see an activity change set, select the activity, click Properties, and click the Change Set tab in the Properties window.
  2. Click OK.

If a message informs you that the target of the deliver operation is locked, you cannot complete the operation. Click Cancel and retry the operation later when the stream is unlocked. Or, if you (or someone else) unlocks the stream, click OK again.

  3. Follow the remaining prompts. If you check in files during the deliver operation, you cannot undo changes made during the deliver. To preserve the ability to make any necessary changes, allow versions to be checked in when you are prompted to complete the deliver operation.
