Using view profiles

Using view profiles entails the following tasks:

  1. The project leader defines a view profile for the team.
  2. Each team member creates a separate view based on the team's view profile.
  3. Team members isolate their own work from the rest of the team by creating and working on private branches.
  4. To share the isolated work, team members finish the private branch, which merges work on the private branch to the team's integration branch. If necessary, team members can discard work on the private branch or postpone merging it.
  5. If the project leader changes or deletes the view profile, associated views reflect the change after a view user does one of the following:
    • Opens the view properties sheet and issues a synchronize command.
    • Restarts the view_server process for the view.
