The method that is used to install HCL VersionVault depends on the target platform and on your installation strategy.
Installation Manager install methods
You can install and manage product installations with Installation Manager by using any of these methods: from the Linux or UNIX console, or from the Installation Manager wizard.
Installing without using the Installation Manager GUI
On supported operating systems, you can install without using the Installation Manager graphical interface. You can install HCL VersionVault silently using a response file, or interactively from the console.

Installing without using the Installation Manager GUI

On supported operating systems, you can install without using the Installation Manager graphical interface. You can install HCL VersionVault silently using a response file, or interactively from the console.

Silent mode is supported on all platforms but console mode is not supported on Windows.

Installing silently requires a response file that contains information about your installation environment and parameter settings. You can modify sample response files provided for your HCL product to reflect the environment settings and installation options.

Installing in console mode provides a character-based version of the Installation Manager wizard interface that supports interactive installation on platforms that do not support a GUI.
