Approvals
An approval process streamlines the process of having your work reviewed and approved. Multiple users can review work in parallel or in an order that represents your business processes.
Approval process workflow
To begin the approval process, you create an approval, add approvers, and add approval items. Then, you submit the approval and the review process begins. HCL® Marketing Operations sends the approval process to approvers based on their sequence and whether the reviewers are required or optional. The approval process can go through several iterations as all the approvers complete their review.
About enabling markup for approval items
Owners of approvals can choose whether to enable markup for attachments. Approvers user markup to leave review comments directly on the attachment. If markup is enabled for an attachment, and HCL® Marketing Operations supports markup for the file type, anyone who can view the attachment can make comments.

Owners of approvals can choose whether to enable markup for attachments. Approvers user markup to leave review comments directly on the attachment. If markup is enabled for an attachment, and HCL® Marketing Operations supports markup for the file type, anyone who can view the attachment can make comments.

Approval owners enable markup on attachments in two ways.

When an owner adds an item to an approval process, the system prompts the owner to enable markup for the PDF.
For an existing approval process, each approval item has Enable/Disable Markup links. Click the link to turn on markup.

To allow users to add comments, choose Enable Markup when prompted.
