Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
Using advanced scripts in email
Deliver provides a template-based scripting language for creating self-contained scripts that provide a way to personalize content in ways that you cannot easily duplicate in the Deliver Message Editor.
Working with advanced email scripts
You can add advanced scripts directly into an HTML document used as the template for a personalized email. Templates for text-only email in Deliver are also HTML documents that accept advanced scripts for email. The script syntax includes several tags and elements used exclusively with Deliver.
Where to add scripts
Insert an advanced email script where you want the script output to appear. If you are using more than one script in a document, you can place them in various locations within a single template for HTML or text-only email.

  Email and landing page templates are documents that you create outside of the Deliver Message Editor to define the layout of personalized email, hosted landing pages. The design of the template guides the design of the message. To create personalized email, marketers add content to the template by modifying the template or by using editing tools that are provided in the Message Editor.

      You can include trackable links in advanced scripts. However, advanced scripts do not support adding links to landing pages hosted by Unica.

    Advanced scripts for email require that you adhere to a specific structure and use specific tags and operators to write scripts that create data tables and conditional content that you can incorporate into email messages.

- Offers in personalized email
  You can add offers that you define in Unica Campaign to personalized email that you create and send through Unica Deliver. Including offers in your marketing email gives you an opportunity to deliver a timely and targeted call to action to your audience. The system collects the offer responses and makes the data available in the Campaign contact and response history for use in Campaign performance reports.

Where to add scripts

Insert an advanced email script where you want the script output to appear. If you are using more than one script in a document, you can place them in various locations within a single template for HTML or text-only email.

When the recipient opens the email, the script output displays as part of the email. You can see how the script output appears in the email using Preview in the Deliver Message Editor.

Note: Preview displays the email, including the script output, using sample data configured for the personalization fields defined in the document and in the script. The data type of the sample data must match the data type expected by the script. You can change the data type for OLT personalization fields.
