Adding groups in the Graphical editor

In the Graphical editor, you can group conditions for greater flexibility in building personalization rules. Deliver always evaluates conditions within groups before it evaluates other conditions in the rule. Adding groups in the Graphical editor is analogous to using parentheses in the Text editor.

You can add groups in a series to create a single-level hierarchy. Use the logical operators (AND and OR) to define the relationship between each group. The Graphical editor adds a logical operator when you add a group. You can use the selector in the editor to change it. You can choose only between AND and OR. In a flat series of groups, the logical operator between groups must be the same.

To create even more sophisticated rules, you can add groups within groups to create multi-level condition hierarchies. The logical operator used within each level must be the same, but you can use different operators on different levels. Unica recommends that you avoid creating hierarchies of more than three levels. For more sophisticated condition nesting, create nested conditional content using advanced scripting for email.
