Applying personalization rules to content

You can apply personalization rules to individual content elements in an email, SMS, WhatsApp, or landing page document. The rules you define and the order in which you apply them affects how content displays to each recipient. Because you apply personalization rules to each content element individually, you can have precise control over which content displays.

Understanding how Deliver evaluates personalization rules is an important consideration when applying rules to personalized content. If you add multiple content elements to a zone, you must consider the order in which Deliver evaluates the rules. Deliver stops evaluating personalization rules as soon as it finds a rule that is satisfied and it displays the associated content.

Deliver provides a personalization rules editor that you can use in graphical mode or text mode to define and apply personalization rules. You can access the rules editor through zones in the document or through the Rules Spreadsheet. The Rules Spreadsheet also provides an inline editor that you can use to edit personalization rules.
