Verifying a Sametime Community Server installation

After installing the IBM Sametime® Community Server, start the server and verify that the installation was successful.

Procedure

Follow these steps to confirm that you can connect to the Community Server.
  1. On the Domino® server, start the Domino server and the Sametime Community Server.
  2. Start the Sametime System Console.
  3. Start the deployment manager for the cell.
  4. From a browser, log in to the Integrated Solutions Console:
    1. Enter the following URL, replacing serverhostname.domain with the fully qualified domain name of the system console server.

      http://serverhostname.domain:8700/ibm/console

      For example:

      http://sametime.example.com:8700/ibm/console

    2. Enter the WebSphere® Application Server user ID and password that you created when you installed the system console.
  5. Click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > Sametime Community Servers.
  6. In the Sametime Community Servers list, click the deployment name of the server that you installed.
  7. Click any of the tabs to see the types of settings that you can change. You make most configuration changes from these tabs.

What to do next

If you cannot connect to the Community Server, it is likely that the automatic registration failed. Register the Community Server with the System Console as explained in Registering the Sametime Community Server with the Sametime System Console
