Configuring anonymous login by token authentication on the Sametime Community Server

To avoid overload on the IBM® Sametime® Community Server and to protect the Sametime Community Server from security risks, the login attempts of unauthorized users are controlled through the "Allowed by token authentication only" option in the administration settings. This feature is often used to allow Guest access to audio and video meetings.

About this task

Warning: If server deployment is accessed by Sametime 8.5.2 IFR1 clients, then Sametime TURN Server authentication should be disabled.

Procedure

  1. Browse to the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console on the server hosting the Sametime System Console.
  2. Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere administrator.
  3. In the navigation tree, click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > Sametime Community Servers.
  4. Select the deployment you are working with.
  5. Click the Anonymous Access tab.
  6. Under Define anonymous access type to community services, enable the setting Allowed by token authentication only.
  7. Click OK, and log out of the Integrated Solutions Console.
  8. Restart the Sametime Community Server.
