Preparing to install the Meeting Rooms widget

The Meeting Rooms widget integrates IBM® Connections Communities and the IBM Sametime® Meeting Server. Owners of a Community can create a meeting room, and members of the Community can view a list of available meeting rooms and join those meetings. When creating a meeting room, the widget provides fields to configure the room.

About this task

The widget sends HTTP requests to the Sametime Meeting Server. The HTTP requests are handled by the Sametime Meeting Server's REST API. The API allows the widget to retrieve and create meeting rooms from within the Community page. The WebSphere® Application Server, IBM Connections, and the Sametime Meeting Server must be installed in order to use the Meeting Rooms widget.
