Configuring business cards using IBM Connections

You can configure IBM® Sametime® to use IBM Connections Profiles as the business card repository.

About this task

This feature requires the use of Connections 2.5.0.1 or later. The binding between Sametime users and Connections users is based on email address, so email addresses must be enabled on the Connections server.
Note: Use Connections to control the size of the image. The image size should be smaller than 45 KB (recommended: 10 KB).

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Sametime System Console with administrator privileges.

    Example: https://yourserver.com:8701/ibm/console

  2. Click .Sametime System Console > Sametime Proxy Servers.
  3. Click the Sametime Proxy Server's link to open its Configuration page.
  4. In the "General Properties" section, navigate to the "Business card server" section.
  5. Click Connections Server and enter the server's address.
    The address for a Connections Profile server typically looks like this: 
    http://connections_server.example.com/profiles
  6. Click OK, and then click Apply.
