Configuring SSO support for the Sametime WebPlayer

Configure IBM Sametime® servers to use single sign-on and anonymous authentication, which are requirements for browser-based video conferencing.

About this task

Use this checklist to ensure that you have met login requirements on the servers before deploying the WebPlayer to users.

Procedure

  1. Designate a Sametime Proxy server so users can be detected in meeting rooms.
  2. Configure SSO between the servers.
    1. Set up SSO between the Sametime Meeting Server and the Sametime Community Server.
    2. Set up SSO between the Sametime SIP Proxy/Registrar and the Sametime Community Server.
    3. Import the LTPA token into the SIP Proxy/Registrar Server.
    4. Verify that the servers use the same SSO settings.
    5. Verify that you are able to get Sametime live names in the browser-based meetings client.
  3. Configure anonymous authentication in the SIP Proxy/Registrar.
  4. The Sametime Proxy Servers and the Media Manager Servers must be added to the Sametime Community Server's trusted IP addresses.
  5. If the Sametime Meeting Server and Sametime Proxy Server are on the same computer, follow the steps described in Setting up a virtual host on the Sametime Meeting Server. The Sametime Proxy Server host name must be different from the Sametime Meeting Server host name.
  6. Verify that all servers are reachable by their host names: Sametime Community Server, Sametime Meeting Server, and Sametime Media Manager.
