IBM® Sametime® consists of a variety of servers and clients, and can be deployed to suit many different environments. The deployment instructions are organized by feature set, beginning with the minimum components that are necessary to support instant messaging, and then expanding the deployment to include features such as audio and video support, and conferencing.
Deploying for mobile users
The Apple iOS client is distributed through the Apple App Store. The Android client is no longer available for download from the IBM® Sametime® Proxy Server. Customers with users who are unable to access the Google Play Store should contact IBM Support to request that a build be provided to them directly.

You can provide shortcuts that help mobile users get started with IBM® Sametime® without having to know server names or addresses.
Configuring mobile devices to use a reverse proxy server
If your IBM® Sametime® Meeting Server is secured behind a corporate firewall and your mobile devices do not use a VPN, connectivity to the Meeting Server can be provided by using an authenticating proxy that has been configured for 401 Basic Authentication. This is sometimes referred to as a reverse proxy. Users need to know the authenticating proxy server address and port to set up their devices correctly.

Procedure

Open the options menu and tap Settings.
Tap Servers.
Tap an existing Meeting Server configuration.

Check the Authenticating Proxy setting.
Provide the reverse-proxy server's address and port.
If the reverse-proxy server uses the same credentials as the Meeting Server, check the Reuse Credentials setting. Otherwise, specify the User Name and Password.
Press Save to initiate a connection to the Meeting Server using the authenticating proxy.
