Publishing databases in a library

When you publish a database in a database library, the database is added to the library.

About this task

Unlike a database catalog, which lists all the databases on a server, a library contains links to selected databases from one or several servers. For the convenience of different user groups, there can be more than one library on a server.

To publish a database in a library

Procedure

  1. Make sure you have Author or higher access in the database library ACL.
  2. From the Domino® Administrator, select the server that holds the database you want to publish to the library.
  3. On the Files tab, select the title of the database you want to publish to the library.
  4. Choose File > Application > Publish.
  5. Select the database library title from the Available libraries list, and click OK.
  6. Enter information in the following fields, and then close and save the database document:
    • In the Abstract field, type a short description of the database to serve as the description that appears next to the database's title in the database library.
    • In the Long Description field, type a more complete description of the database contents that appears when you open the database document.

To delete a database from a library

Procedure

  1. In the database library ACL, make sure you have Author access to a database to delete the database documents you've created and Editor or higher access to delete documents others have created.
  2. From the Domino® Administrator, select the server that holds the database library.
  3. On the Files tab, double-click the title of the database library.
  4. In the Databases by Title view, select the database you want to delete.
  5. Choose Edit > Delete.
