Starting with HCL Notes 12, you can use one executable to install the English version of Notes and all Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packs.

Installing
Use this documentation to install the HCL Domino® server and subsequently deploy the HCL Notes®client.

  - Notes® Auto Update
    You don't have to rely on third-party products to automate deployment of new versions and updates of HCL Notes® or HCL Client Application Access (HCAA). Instead, you can enable Auto Update (AUT) servers to deploy updates automatically.

    As an administrator, you can customize the Notes® install and upgrade process for your users to install just the features that they need. The tool is available for Notes on supported Windows™ platforms only, and must be run by an administrator.

The MUI pack is installed after the English version of the Notes® client has been installed.

        In a Notes® single user install, the user interface language of the Notes setup and of the local databases is the same as the language of the installed Notes client.

        You can perform a Notes multi-user installation with the Multilingual User Interface (MUI) pack.
    - Using the Native Language (NL) packs (Mac OS)
      When you install Notes® on the Mac OS platform, language kits are available for your use. These kits are typically referred to as native language (NL) packs.
    - Installing Notes® spelling dictionaries
      The non-English language dictionaries are supplied in MUI packs and NL install kits. If you are using a MUI pack or NL install kit to install the language dictionaries, no additional action is needed.
  - Adding or removing installed Notes® features within a release
    Optionally add new features, or remove installed features, by rerunning the Notes® installation executable within the same release.
  - Managing client plug-in deployment
    While you can customize your client installer to add new or remove supplied features and plug-ins when you install or upgrade your clients, you can also provision (install and automatically update) stand-alone or third party features and plug-ins to your existing Notes® or Lotus® Expeditor run-time using a combination of Domino® policy or Eclipse preferences, a widget resident in a widgets catalog on an HTTP or Domino server, and a Eclipse update site (with signed features and plugin .jar files) optionally resident in a centrally managed NSF-based update site.
  - Uninstalling Notes®
    While it is not necessary to uninstall Notes® to upgrade to a new release, you should uninstall a Beta release before upgrading.
- Upgrading
  Use this documentation to upgrade the existing Domino® server and subsequently upgrade the Notes® client to a new release. You can also upgrade additional clients such as Domino Administrator and Domino Designer clients and additional features and plug-ins such as the embedded HCL Sametime® client.

Using the cascaded Multilingual User Interface (MUI) pack installer (Windows)

Starting with HCL Notes 12, you can use one executable to install the English version of Notes and all Multilingual User Interface (MUI) packs.

About this task

You can use this cascaded installer to install the Notes Standard client on Windows. To install the Basic client or the Notes, Designer, and Administrator clients, use the single MUI pack installer, instead.

The cascaded installer allows you to choose whether to install English and which language groups to install.

Complete the following steps to use the cascaded installer.

Procedure

Run the following executable:
```
All_MUI_Notes_Client.exe
```
At the following prompt, select Yes if you want to install the English client. If you select Yes, proceed with the English client installation.
At the following prompt, select Yes to install the MUI pack for the Group 1 languages (German, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese). If you select Yes, proceed with the Group 1 MUI pack installation.
At the following prompt, select Yes to install the MUI pack for the Group 2a languages (Dutch and Swedish). If you select Yes, proceed with the Group 2a MUI pack installation.
At the following prompt, select Yes to install the MUI pack for the Group 2b languages (Arabic, Czech, Polish, Russian). If you select Yes, proceed with the Group 2b MUI pack installation.
