Using the Bluemix™ Deployment Wizard with XPages applications

This wizard is part of the functionality and tooling available in Domino® Designer to provide the infrastructure needed to modify, configure, and deploy XPages applications to and from Bluemix™. The Bluemix™ Deployment Wizard lets you deploy XPages applications you have modified in Designer to the Bluemix™ server.

To open the wizard select Design >IBM Bluemix >Deploy Application or use the dropdown menu associated with the Bluemix™ menu toolbar button. You can also right-click on an open application in the Applications Navigator and use the IBM Bluemix >Deploy Application popup menu.

As mentioned, the Bluemix™ Deployment Wizard lets you deploy XPages applications you have modified in Designer to the Bluemix™ server. The steps outlined next are provided as an example of how you would typically use this wizard.

1. After you have modified, save all of your changes to the application.
2. Select the application root in the Applications Navigator panel and then click the Bluemix™ icon in the toolbar.
3. Select Deploy Application. Designer copies your modified application to the deployment directory, and the application is pushed to Bluemix™. Your application stops, re-stages, and restarts on Bluemix™. This process takes several minutes to fully complete.
4. Access your application on Bluemix™.
5. Right-click on the application in the Application Navigator and select Bluemix > Open in default system browser. Your application opens in a new browser window.

When your application is finally deployed, you can use the other available services in Bluemix™ to make your application more powerful.
