Using file decorators

The ClearCase® Repository Access Manager Plugin (CCRAM Plugin) is an optional installation that adds custom decorations to the files listed in under CCRAM in the CARMA Repositories view.

About this task

Decorators are small images, which are overlaid on the file-type icon and which tell the user if a file has been checked out of ClearCase or if it is contained in the view but not yet under source control (view-private). Files that have been checked out are decorated with a small checkmark icon overlaying the lower right hand corner of the file-type icon. Files that are view-private are decorated with a small lock icon overlaying the lower right hand corner of the file-type icon.

Procedure

To enable CCRAM decorators, do these steps:
  1. In IBM® Rational® Developer for System z®, click Window > Preferences.
  2. Expand General > Appearance and then choose Label Decorations.
  3. Either select the check box next to CCRAM Decorator to enable decorators or clear it to disable them.

Results

Enabled decorators display as in the following image:

Note: When you first expand a CCRAM view, the Checkout and View-private decorators do not immediately display. The plugin must contact the ClearCase server to gather information about the files in the view. The plugin might take a few minutes to update the properties of all the resources.
