Exploring ClearCase metadata in UCM project VOBs

Use the ClearTeam Navigator view and the ClearTeam Details view to explore ClearCase® metadata in UCM component VOBs and project VOBs.

About this task

The ClearTeam Navigator view and the ClearTeam Details view display the integration streams, baselines, and activities in UCM project VOBs (PVOBs). Using these views, you can also perform ClearCase operations on the metadata, such as creating and recommending baselines.

Procedure

To explore ClearCase component VOB and project VOB metadata:
  1. If you are using a Web view or automatic view, in the ClearTeam Navigator view click the plus sign (+) to the left of the ClearCase node that is followed by the name of the server machine that you want to explore. If you are using a Dynamic view, click the plus sign (+) to the left of the view name or the ClearCase Local node.
The Component VOBs and the Project VOBs folders appear.
  2. For metadata concerning UCM components, click the plus sign (+) to the left of the Component VOBs folder to reveal the UCM project components on that server machine, then click the plus sign (+) to the left of a component folder to reveal the Branch Types and Label Types folders. When you select either the Branch Types folder or the Label Types folder, the associated branch or label metadata appears in the ClearTeam Details view.
  3. For metadata concerning PVOBs, click the plus sign (+) to the left of the Project VOBs folder to display the UCM projects on the currently selected ClearCase server machine, then click the plus sign (+) to the left of a UCM project name to display the Components and Projects folders. You can navigate through the Projects folder in the ClearTeam Navigator view to display the Activities, Baselines, and Views and substreams associated with the integration stream integration stream icon of each UCM project in the ClearTeam Details view. You can also right-click the metadata in the ClearTeam Navigator and ClearTeam Details views to perform ClearCase operations.
