Upgrading the IBM License Key Server

If you use IBM Common Licensing to manage your licenses, you must upgrade the License Key Server to version 9.x if you are upgrading to DevOps Code ClearCase® version 10.0.

About this task

If you are using a License Key Server older than version 8.1, you must uninstall the existing License Key Server before you install version 9.x.

Procedure

  1. Download the IBM License Key Server version 9.x.
    See technote 6347644.
  2. Back up your existing license files.
  3. Shut down all IBM products using the IBM Licensing server.
  4. Shut down the IBM Licensing server.
  5. Uninstall the IBM License server.
  6. Update the license files using one of the following methods:
    1. On Windows, use the import functionality in License Key Administrator (LKAD) to migrate the license files: Importing permanent authorized user keys.
    2. Return license files and request new license files from IBM License Key Center: Returning or moving license keys.
  7. Install the IBM License Key Server.
  8. Start the IBM License Key Server.
