Configure your environment after an installation or upgrade

For some types of DevOps Code ClearCase® and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite hosts, some configuration tasks are required after you complete a product installation or upgrade operation.

Data to be restored can include custom configuration files and job scripts, scheduler data (\var\scheduler), and data in shipping bays for ClearCase MultiSite installations (\var\shipping). Instead, compare the two files and merge any custom configuration settings into the new file.

Customize the client host environment	Client	Customizing a client host environment for DevOps Code ClearCase	Make sure client hosts can access resources such as the ClearCase manpages for command help, text editors, graphics tools, and other utilities that might be required for DevOps Code ClearCase processing.
Optional. Upgrade the VOB schema version and raise the VOB feature level.	Server	If the feature levels are the same, there are no additional steps to take. If the feature levels differ, see the reference page for the chflevel cleartool command for information about raising the feature level for replicated VOBs.
