Defining a computer running Linux or the UNIX system as a registry host

You can define an existing DevOps Code ClearCase® host that is running Linux or the UNIX system to become a registry server.

About this task

To define a computer running Linux or the UNIX system as a registry host.
  1. Log on to the host. You must log in as root to have privileges to stop or start DevOps Code ClearCase, or to create directories and files in the /var partition of most hosts.
  2. Stop DevOps Code ClearCase.
  3. Create the file /var/adm/devops/clearcase/config/rgy_svr.conf. This file must contain only one line, consisting of the text string master.
  4. Restart DevOps Code ClearCase.
Note: After you define a new registry host, you must establish a registry password for the new registry. Otherwise, you cannot perform any privileged registry operations, such as creating public VOB tags or changing site-wide defaults. For more information, see Setting and using the DevOps Code ClearCase registry password.
