Using the Automated Uninstall for Microsoft Windows Servers

For Microsoft Windows server deployments, an uninstall script is made available within the standard Programs and Features list during installation.

Before you begin

Warning: Ensure that the Common.ear application has been shut down. Failure to perform this step will result in an incomplete removal of the Tiny Editor for Connections integration.

Procedure

  1. Run the Tiny Editor for HCL Connections Uninstaller.
    1. Stop the Common enterprise application.
    2. Navigate to the Programs and Features section under Control Panel.
    3. Select the Tiny Editors for HCL Connections entry.
    4. Click Uninstall.
    5. Click Yes at the prompt and allow the installer to complete the uninstallation.
    6. Start the Common enterprise application.
    The Tiny Editor has now been uninstalled from the specified HCL Connections installation.
  2. Update the HCL Connections cache.
    To ensure that the Tiny Editor is immediately removed and made unavailable, the IBM Connections server cache must be notified to update itself. To update the HCL Connections server cache, perform the steps outlined by the HCL Connections Post-Customization documentation.
  3. Verify uninstall.
    Browse to the edit screen for a wiki or blog to verify that the Tiny Editor is no longer available as rich text editors within HCL Connections and that rich text editing has reverted to the default editor.
