Configuring IBM Watson Campaign Automation to work with HCL Commerce

Configure IBM Watson Campaign Automation to work with HCL Commerce by creating and configuring the HCL Commerce application and database in IBM Watson Campaign Automation. Settings that are obtained while you configure IBM Watson Campaign Automation in this task are used in proceeding tasks to configure the Silverpop transport method in HCL Commerce.

Procedure

  1. Log in to IBM Watson Campaign Automation.
    For example, from the following URL: https://engage2.silverpop.com.
  2. Go to Settings > Organization Settings.
  3. Under VMTA Servers, ensure that blackhole is not set as the default VMTA server.
    That is, emails cannot be sent when blackhole is set as the default VMTA server. Select an alternative default VMTA server.
  4. Under Application Account Access, click Add Application.
  5. Enter a name and description for the new application.
    For example, use the following values:

    Name HCL Commerce
    Description IBM Watson Campaign Automation transactional email integration with HCL Commerce
  6. Click Add.
    Your Client ID and Client Secret values are displayed.
    Important: Make note of your Client ID and Client Secret. These values are used in proceeding tasks to configure the Silverpop transport method in the HCL Commerce Administration Console.
  7. Click Add Account Access.
  8. Select the new application that you created.
    Then, select the user account that you want permission to access the account. If necessary, enter a description for the account access.
  9. Click Add.
    An email is sent to the selected user account that contains the User Account Refresh Token value.
    Important: Make note of your User Account Refresh Token. This value is used in proceeding tasks to configure the Silverpop transport method in the HCL Commerce Administration Console.
  10. Log in to IBM Watson Campaign Automation.
  11. Select Database > Create.
  12. Select the Regular database type and enter a database name.
    For example, enter demo_database_1.
  13. Select Shared and click Next.
  14. Add a new text field. Enter SPOP as the field name and select Text as the field type. Then, click Add Field.
  15. Click Edit Unique Identifiers.
  16. Clear the check box next to E-mail. Then, select the check box next to SPOP to enable it as a unique identifier.
  17. Click Save, then click Create to create the database.
