Single seller quote

Single seller quotes allow buyers to place an order with the seller during a specific period. This functionality is available to registered business direct and consumer direct customers. Buyers can request for a quote only through the Customer Service Representative (CSR).

The CSR offers the buyer a prepared quote. This quote includes all the item prices, a total amount, a quote token or quote ID, and the expiry date of the quote. If the buyer agrees to the terms and conditions of the quote before the expiry date, then the CSR generates an order from the quote and submits it.

The single seller quote is different from Request for Quote (RFQ). A Request for Quote (RFQ) in WebSphere Commerce is when a buyer initiates an RFQ (this is from the store front), the seller responds to the buyer's request for quote using Websphere Commerce Accelerator and the buyer accepts the quote (this is from the store front). A single seller quote in Sales Center is when a customer service representative provides a quote to the customer or buyer. If the customer or buyer agrees with the quote before the expiry date, then the CSR places an order from the quote for the customer or buyer.

This new functionality uses the current Order functionality that WebSphere Commerce provides. New commands allow you to extend the Orders functionality to support single seller quotes.
