Change an existing promotion in an extended sites store

In this lesson, you will assume the role of Amelia, a Marketing Manager. Amelia is responsible for updating promotions in the asset store and the extended sites store to make them more competitive. In this task, you will change the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion in the extended sites Sample B2B store to 10% off all orders over $100 to increase the discount for repeat customers.

Before you begin

After completing the previous lesson, you are still logged on to the Management Center as Logan. Before you can start this task, you must log off the Management Center since you will be using the Amelia user ID.

About this task

To change a promotion in an extended sites store:

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Management Center as the user Amelia at the following URL:

    https:// host_name:8000/lobtools

  2. From the top left corner Open the Promotions tool.
  3. From the Store list on the top right corner of the page, select Sample B2B Store.
  4. From the explorer view, select Promotions to display a list of all of the promotions.
  5. In the Promotions list view, right-click the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion. Click Deactivate. This will deactivate the promotion so that you can edit it.
  6. Double-click the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion to open its properties view.
  7. In the Manage Promotion tab scroll down to Purchase Condition and Reward>Minimum Purchase Condition section, and change the percentage discount on order to 10.
  8. Click the Descriptions tab and change the Administrative description and the Customer viewable short description to 10% off all orders over $100.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Right-click the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion from the Promotions list. Click Activate to activate the promotion.

Results

The updated promotion displays in the Promotions list view.
