Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
Creating hyperlinks
The Deliver Message Editor provides several ways to add links to personalized email messages, and landing pages that are hosted by Unica. Apply link attributes and inline styles to control how the links appear and how the target of the links display. Deliver tracks link clicks and stores the data in the Deliver system tables.

Unica Deliver tracks links whose URL starts with http:// or https://. When you publish an email or landing page communication, Deliver evaluates each communication to identify the links that must be tracked.

  Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. - Selecting email recipients
  If you install and enable Unica Deliver within Campaign, then you can create a list that defines the recipients for a personalized messaging campaign. The list contains the recipient information that is used to address and personalize each message. You create a recipient list by configuring a Deliver process in a Campaign flowchart.

Marketers without specific HTML editing experience can create valid, full-featured HTML email and landing pages with the editing and personalization tools in the Message Editor.

  Email and landing page templates are documents that you create outside of the Deliver Message Editor to define the layout of personalized email, hosted landing pages. The design of the template guides the design of the message. To create personalized email, marketers add content to the template by modifying the template or by using editing tools that are provided in the Message Editor.

      Links expire at the end of the tracking period that you can specify when you configure a messaging run. When a link expires, the system stops processing requests to open the link target.

    In the Message Editor, use the Hyperlink widget to configure hyperlinks in zones that are contained in message and landing page communications. The Hyperlink widget displays in the widget toolbar at the top of a message or landing page communication.

    To embed a hyperlink into an HTML template or HTML snippet, enter the link directly into the HTML code. Use inline styles to specify link appearance and behavior.

    You can format hyperlinks in messages and hosted landing pages to control how the links appear and where the target of the link opens. However, Deliver imposes specific link format requirements. The methods that are available to format the link depend on how you add the link to the message or landing page.

    To enable link tracking, Unica modifies links in email messages and landing pages. Deliver rebuilds the link to identify one of your registered messaging domains, instead of seeing a link that references an Unica domain.

    Add links for up to five social networks in an email communication. You can add only one set of social share links in a single communication. Use the Share widget to configure the links.
  - Adding a Forward to a Friend link to email messages
    You can add Forward to a Friend links to any zone in an email communication, embed the link in the HTML template, or add the link to an HTML snippet that you add to the message. The Forward to a Friend link appears as a trackable link in the email message. You can configure how the link appears in the email and how the link opens when the recipient clicks the link. You can also edit the form that email recipients use to forward the message and the confirmation page that displays when the system accepts the forwarding addresses.
  - Short links
    Short links are concise placeholders that replace full length hyperlinks in message formats that limit how many characters you can use in a message. Each short links consists of a short link domain and a unique link identifier.
  - About identifying links for Deliver reports
    Deliver describes link tracking results in the Detailed Link and Detailed Link by Cell reports. The reports use specific HTML link attributes to distinguish each link in the message. The attribute that the reports use depends on whether the link displays as text or an image, and whether the link attributes are unique. To identify links in reports, ensure that the attributes that the reports use to distinguish links are unique for each link in the message.
- Previewing email and landing pages
  Use the Preview feature in the Message Editor to see how a personalized message might appear to message recipients. Preview simulates how personalized parts of the Deliver document used to create the email, landing page, SMS, WhatsApp may change according to the personal characteristics of each recipient.
- Publishing email and landing pages
  Publishing the communication in the Deliver Message Editor makes the communication and the resources it contains available for use in a personalized message or landing page. Publishing a communication does not transmit the communication to message recipients or landing page visitors. However, to send a message through Deliver, you must first publish the message in the Message Editor.

  Personalization fields provide the means to add recipient-specific information from your marketing database to a SMS, email, WhatsApp, push notifications . Personalization fields are also used in rules that control how conditionalized content displays in each personalized message.

In Unica Deliver, you can define two types of conditional content.   Deliver provides a template-based scripting language for creating self-contained scripts that provide a way to personalize content in ways that you cannot easily duplicate in the Deliver Message Editor.

  You can add offers that you define in Unica Campaign to personalized email that you create and send through Unica Deliver. Including offers in your marketing email gives you an opportunity to deliver a timely and targeted call to action to your audience. The system collects the offer responses and makes the data available in the Campaign contact and response history for use in Campaign performance reports.

Links to and from landing pages

Deliver tracks links to and from landing pages that are hosted by Unica in the same way that it tracks links in personalized email messages.

The system captures tracking data for links that are related to landing pages, as follows.

Links in personalized email that point to landing pages hosted by Unica
Links in landing pages that are hosted by Unica that point to other hosted landing pages
Links in hosted landing pages that point to external web pages not hosted by Unica

Note: To track links that are contained in a landing page, you must publish the landing page.

Deliver components that are installed locally with Campaign periodically download link tracking data and add it to the Deliver system tables in the Campaign schema. By default, Campaign downloads link response data from HCL Unica every 5 minutes.

By default, links that display within email messages and within hosted landing pages expire after 90 days and the system stops recording link responses. However, the links from the email to the hosted landing pages do not expire.
