Enabling attachment security settings

Settings are available in both the Traveler server default settings document as well as Traveler policy documents that affect attachment handling. The following settings are available:

  • Maximum Email Attachment Size Allowed: If set to zero, this disables the download of attachments for all clients (Preferences > Filter settings).
  • Prohibit download of attachments: Available by device type. See Preferences > Security Settings for the device type.
  • Prohibit export of attachments: Available for HCL Verse for Android and HCL Verse for iOS. See Preferences > Security Settings for the device type.

Additionally, attachment security policies can be enabled to control which applications can work with attachments for the Apple iOS Mail client and the HCL Verse for Android client. Enable attachment security polices using the HCL Traveler Administration web client to edit the Default Settings document:
  • On the Default Settings document, navigate to Preferences > Security, and then to either the Apple or Android tab.
  • For Apple devices, select Allow only approved applications and built in secure viewers to access attachments. For Android devices, select Allow only approved applications to access attachments.
