Installing Desktop Experience for a Meeting Recording Renderer on Windows

If you are installing an IBM® Sametime® Meeting Server with the Meeting Recording Renderer configuration role, you must install on Microsoft™ Windows™, and you must install Windows Desktop Experience first. If you fail to install the Windows Desktop Experience, the recordings will fail.

About this task

You can install the Meeting Renderer role on its own server, or in a pilot deployment, as part of a complete Meeting Server that includes all roles.

Desktop Experience can be installed on Windows 2012 or Windows 2008.

If you have not installed Windows Desktop Experience, the recordings will fail with this error message: CoCreateInstance Windows Media error 0x80040154: Class not registered
