Determining which installation packages you need

Determine which software packages you will need for deploying or updating each IBM® Sametime® offering in the list.

About this task

For upgrades, server updates are available from IBM Fix Central.

For new deployments, the Download document for each Sametime offering lists the titles of the packages you need; the part numbers reflect packages stored in IBM Passport Advantage® for download and will be different from the part numbers used with physical media:

The Sametime Community Mux is packaged with the Sametime Community Server. The Sametime Media Manager package contains the following servers:
  • Sametime Conference Manager
  • Sametime SIP Proxy/Registrar
  • Sametime Video Manager
  • Sametime Bandwidth Manager
  • Sametime TURN Server
Restriction: Most of the Sametime 9.0.1 servers that run IBM WebSphere® Application Server require version 8.5.5.8; however the Sametime Bandwidth Manager requires WebSphere Application Server version 7.0.0.33. This is the same version of WebSphere Application Server that was used with Sametime 8.5.2. The packages listed in the table are included in Sametime 8.5.2 but are not included in Sametime 9.0.1. You can download the packages (WebSphere Application Server version 7.0.0.33 and the WebSphere interim fixes for Sametime 8.5.2) from IBM Passport Advantage:
