Setting the Sametime Advanced administration settings

Use the IBM® Sametime® Advanced Server administration page to define settings for workflow, chat rooms, and integration with the Sametime Proxy Server and IBM Connections. Settings on the Sametime Advanced Server administration page include allowing anonymous access to chat rooms, enabling daily synchronization between IBM Connections and the Advanced Server, displaying user join and leave events in a chat room, and other settings.

Procedure

  1. Browse to the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console on the server hosting the Sametime System Console.
  2. Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere administrator
  3. In the navigation tree, click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > Sametime Advanced Servers.
  4. Under Deployment Identifier, select the Sametime Advanced Server you are administering.
  5. On the Administration Settings page, specify values for any of these Administration Settings.

    Workflow description
    Is Chat room Workflow APIs enabled Select this setting to enable chat room workflow APIs.
    Is Community Workflow APIs enabled Select this setting to enable broadcast community workflow APIs.
    Chat Room Settings
    Allow anonymous access to chat room (Allows users to use chat rooms without authenticating.) Select to allow chat room members to log in anonymously as Guest.
    Show file panels Select to display library panel view in chat room.
    Store user join and leave events on the server Select to store a record on the server of when anyone joins or leaves a chat.
    Display user join and leave events in the chat room Select to display message when anyone joins or leaves a chat.
    Display password protected chat rooms in search results Select to allow search results to list password protected chat rooms. Users must enter the password to access the password protected chat room.
    Restrict global folder access Select to restrict access for creating folders at the global folder, chat rooms, level. Only a server administrator can create folders at the global folder level.
    Sametime Proxy Server
    Host name Specify the Sametime Proxy Server fully-qualified host name.
    Port Specify the port number for the Sametime Proxy Server.
    Protocol Select one of these protocols for the Sametime Proxy Server:
    • http
    • https
    Lotus Connections
    Host name Specify the fully qualified host name of the IBM Connections server.
    Port Specify the port number for the Connections server.
    Protocol Specify either http or https protocol for the Connections server.
    Username Specify the administrator user name for the Connections server.
    Password Specify the administrator password for the Connections server.
    Enable daily community synchronizations Select to enable daily synchronization of the IBM Connections and Sametime Advanced servers.
    Synchronize Now Click to force synchronization now.
  6. If you want to force synchronization, click Synchronize Now.
  7. Click Save.
