Group
A group is a way to pool certain types of resources into an organizational unit.
- Users and mobile network connections (MNCs) for broadcasting messages
- Mobile devices
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) IP addresses
- Filters
- Packet mapping or network address translator (NAT)
- Subordinate nodes for cluster management

Broadcast Group
A broadcast group is a grouping of IDs and MNCs that are configured to receive broadcast messages. A broadcast group can consist of user IDs or MNCs, which include all devices that are logged in to the MNC at the time of broadcast.
The SafeLinx Server supports the broadcast features supplied by network providers Motorola RNC3000 PMR and Dataradio. When you supply a network-provider-specific broadcast identifier, the SafeLinx Server sends one data packet (up to 512 characters) to that destination. For Motorola RNC3000 PMR, the broadcast identifier is the logical link identifier. For Dataradio, the broadcast identifier is a mobile radio modem identifier. You can configure your modem to accept data packets from the destination, as specified by the broadcast identifier. In addition to the broadcast features supplied by specific network providers, the SafeLinx Server allows broadcasting one data packet (up to 512 characters) to each active user on a SafeLinx Server and, optionally, to additional user IDs MNCs.
To create a broadcast group, right-click the OU into which you want the group added, then click .
o create a broadcast message, click the Tasks tab, then click Broadcast a message.
Mobile device group
A mobile device group consists of mobile device IDs that become a pool of devices available to one or more users. A mobile device group is created first, and then mobile devices are defined and associated with the mobile device group.
To create a mobile device group, right-click the OU into which you want the group added, then click .

DHCP group
A DHCP group is a pool of dynamic IP addresses that are assigned to users as needed. The pool is specified as one or more single IP addresses together with groups of IP addresses. The groups of IP addresses can be expressed as a range from lowest IP address to highest IP address (10.15.56.10-10.15.56.50) and as an address plus a mark, also known as a subnet (34.34.73.1+255.255.255.0).
DHCP groups can be made up of IP addresses from more than one mobile network interface (MNI) or more than one SafeLinx Server. DHCP groups are created first and then assigned to users.
To create a DHCP group, right-click the OU in which you want the group added, then click .

Filter group
A filter group is a grouping of filters that work together to control data flow to and from SafeLinx Clients. Filters are assigned to a mobile network interface (MNI). When a set of filters work together, they are grouped under a single name for easy assignment to the MNI. A filter group is first created, then individual filters are assigned to the group.
To create a filter group, right-click the OU into which you want the group added, then click .

Packet mapping or NAT group
A packet mapping or NAT group is a grouping of packet mappings or network address translators that work together to direct data flow to and from SafeLinx Clients. Packet mappings are assigned to a mobile network interface (MNI) and when a set of packet mappings work together, they are grouped under a single name for easy assignment to the MNI. A packet mapping group is first created, then individual packet mappings are assigned to the group.
To create a packet mapping group, right-click the OU into which you want the group added, then click .

Cluster group
A cluster group is a pool of subordinate nodes to which principal nodes can dispatch traffic. A cluster group is first created, then assigned to principal nodes. To create a cluster group, right-click the OU into which you want the group added, then click .

Mobile network connection group
A mobile network connection group is a pool of MNCs that can be assigned to a resource. For example, you can assign an MNC group to a subordinate node in a cluster, eliminating the need to assign each MNC individually. In the case of messaging connection MNCs, you can assign MNCs to a group and have messages routed only to the MNCs specified in that group.
A mobile network connection group is first created, then assigned to a resource. To create a mobile network connection group, right-click the OU in which you want the group added, then click .
