Viewing SafeLinx Server logs

Message and trace logs are stored in files on the Connection Manager. The account records are stored either in a relational database or in a file on the SafeLinx Server system. For more information about using logs, see the Troubleshooting Guide.

Procedure

  • To display these logs from the SafeLinx Administrator, click the Tasks page, then click View SafeLinx Server logs. When you click the log you want to view, wizard panels are displayed on which you can define how you want to view the logs.
Note: To view account, message, or trace logs, the administrator ID must have an additional access enabled by an ACL. This ACL must at least have Read-only access to the SafeLinx Server. For more information, see the section on specific access levels for the SafeLinx Server in Access control lists and ACL profiles.
  • You can choose to copy the log from the SafeLinx Server to the SafeLinx Administrator as a local file. You can also view the most recent entries from the log in a dynamic console window. To view recent entries, you specify the number of lines from the log or database that you want to display. After the specified number of lines are displayed, the console window is dynamically updated with new entries to the log.
  • For accounting records, you can additionally filter records to view log entries:
    • By user ID
    • During specific intervals of time
    • By type of traffic
